These are letters to Jack, my son, and my daughter, Audrey. You have given me the gift of motherhood. This is just a little gift back. I want to share my experiences with you of your childhood from my perspective of watching you grow - of being your Mom.

Day 3 - Magic House

Jack,

Today I picked you up from school and we headed to the Magic House.

It's not like this is out of the ordinary for us anymore and I think you refer to the "Magic House" as a second home instead of as a magical place you visit on special occassions.
We played in the sandbox first which is our usual starting place because you LOVE to scoop the sand. It's actually kind of therapeutic to watch, too. It's a quiet and soothing activity after a busy day at school. From there, we headed to check on the mouse. There is a little pretend mouse that is on display in a little hole with a light switch so you can make it daytime or nightime for the mouse. You like to try it out both ways and see how it looks. From there, we played with beads...From there, we went to the marketwhere you picked out some corn...and checked out a video.Bugs Life....hmmmmmmm....looks pretty good.....

Outside of the market, we discovered a pretend ice cream cart. You got especially excited by this, so we assembled ice cream cones by putting the ice cream scoops in the cones and lining them up. You really liked that activity. From there, we proceeded to the toddler room and you climbed in one of the toddler pools that was filled with balls. It then became your personal objective to throw every one of them out of the pool.I think you were trying to see how big of a mess you could make and if you could give the teenagers that would have to clean it up a premature heart attack.(Not pictured here - when you cleaned up all the balls before we moved on and you DID... Good job!)Then we moved onto the water table and more pouring fun!You would think it would have taken us hours to do all this, wouldn't you?Believe it or not the whole visit was an hour!Next we tried out the water hoses for the first time.I think this is the first visit you could actually reach them. The objective is to make the spinners spin by hitting them with the water stream, but you just whipped the water around in every direction and watched it spray on the glass.HEY - both ways are fun! :)And - as most of our visits go, we had to end it with getting wet.It cracks me up that you never seem to expect that splashing is going to get you wet and you look so surprised when it happens! :)It's as if you are thinking the water should KNOW that it can get on you, but not ON YOUR FACE! That's the RULE!Finally we headed home for some dinner and a movie, followed by a bubble bath, books and an easy transition to sleep.

Today was easy and tonight was wonderful. I miss your Daddy. I know we'll both be so happy to have him back tomorrow.

Good night, Little Man!

Love,

Mommy

Jack you are so adorable. You look like you are having a blast at the Magic House. Hopefully, Lily and Vivy will be able to play with you this summer.
