These are letters to Jack, my son, and my daughter, Audrey. You have given me the gift of motherhood. This is just a little gift back. I want to share my experiences with you of your childhood from my perspective of watching you grow - of being your Mom.

MUN-SHAY?!?!? NOOOOOO MUN-SHAY!!!!

Jack,

Your latest game that tickles you to no end is one where you ask if there is a monkey in someplace unusual, with big laughing eyes and then tell us NOOOOOOO, there isn't a monkey!

It goes something like this:

"MUN-SHAY MAAAIL-BOX?"
"IS there a Monkey in the mailbox? (insert excited intake of breathe as I pretend to look for the monkey in the mailbox)"
Pause....
"NOOOOOOOOO! NO, MUN-SHAY, MOMMEEE!" as you smile at me for playing along and shake your head emphatically.

"MUN-SHAY POTTY?"
"IS there a Monkey in the Potty, Jack (another excited intake of breathe I listen carefully to hear if there is a monkey in the potty upstairs)"
Pause....
"NOOOOOOOO! NOOOO MUN-SHAY POTTY, MOMMEEE!"

You also love to ask:

"Duz da pillow woook?"
"DOES the pillow work, Bear? Does it?"
"DUZ IT?"
"Does it?"
"DUZ IT?!?"
Then you will go down the slide and land on a pillow or a blanket and exclaim:
"DA PILLOW WOOOKS!"

You also are in love with the Very Hungry Caterpillar book and will tell me "Catepilla nah hungwee" "BIIII FAAAAA CATEPILLA!"

There is no end to your cuteness!

Love,

Mommy
Okay - so we have started on a new project in our yard that is .... a bit large.
Daddy rented a jackhammer and broke up the uneven cement that was poured for a patio at the top of our retaining wall.
The concrete had started to become uneven and there was no way to fix it without tearing it out.
SOOOOO... Daddy did!
You have actually been a great help in gathering up and throwing out the remaining piles of scattered rocks all over.
We actually started "collecting" the rocks in the buckets and Daddy dumps them for us one at a time.
So, when this is all said and done and everything looks nice again, you can know that you were a part of making that happen.
The rocks are now all up and we now need to decide just what we want to do next. Thanks for the help, little Man!
