These are letters to Jack, my son, and my daughter, Audrey. You have given me the gift of motherhood. This is just a little gift back. I want to share my experiences with you of your childhood from my perspective of watching you grow - of being your Mom.

Part of You, Part of Me

Jack,
I'm always looking at you and tying to figure out what features you got from me and what features you got from your father. I think it's fair to say, you most resemble your father.
That resemblance just can't be mistaken! Even you look at pictures of your Daddy as a little boy and, when we ask you "Who's this, Jack?" You say "JACK!" Well - I see it, too! :) I sometimes find it harder to find glimpses of myself in your appearance.I think it's easiest to recognize Daddy in you because you DEFINITELY have the same hair! The same hair and the same head and maybe the same eyes. Since that accounts for most of your face, I guess that's why it's easier to see your Daddy in you! :)I think you have my mouth, though - because we have the same smile! Maybe even the same nose... Definitely, the smile though! And - I see myself in many of your facial expressions and mannerisms. Your serious face, your silly face. I don't know if that's learned from your exposure to my "isms" but I see myself in your personality! It's funny - there are SO MANY similarities between you and us and you STILL surprise me!Love,

Mommy
